First Vienna House R.evo to open in Katowice in 2021
Vienna, 25.02.2020 – The first Vienna House R.evo will open in the Polish city of Katowice, a centre of industry, business and trade, in March 2021.
The lease agreement for the 203-unit property has been signed and renovation works on the former office complex have begun.
The Vienna House R.evo concept – the name is a cross between “revolution” and “evolution” – is exciting like a hotel, flexible like an apartment and personal like a home. Vienna House R.evo meets the challenges of a changing society, offering guests more choices in terms of length of stay and type of accommodation, along with clever room layouts, a lobby that is as lively as a marketplace and a contemporary restaurant and bar concept. Services, processes – the entire hotel product and hotel experience – are being redefined on both the analogue and digital front.
R.evo is more. It is a microcosm tailored to the needs and individuality of the guest. Everything is possible, nothing is required – the guest decides. Whether a room is used for one night or an apartment for six weeks, the offer is flexible. The Family & Friends rooms with the basic comforts are available for groups of up to four or you can check in by yourself. R.evo combines everything under one roof. Mobile access to various 24/7 self- and full-service offerings helps to facilitate and optimise the daily necessities. The conventional staff roles are challenged and reinterpreted. Vienna House R.evo Katowice will be pioneering this concept starting in March 2021.
“Together with Pinewood Investment Management, we will be setting a milestone on the Polish market. Vienna House R.evo perfectly captures the zeitgeist and addresses the challenges that large cities and metropolitan areas face today and in the future. I am pleased that our vision is now taking shape in Katowice,” says Rupert Simoner, CEO of Vienna House.
“We are very proud to be part of the team launching the global R.evo concept here in Poland. After months of work, and getting to know this concept better, I strongly believe it is going to be a game changer. Together with Vienna House, we will be reshaping the way hotels look, to suit the requirements and lifestyle of new generations, providing them with a space where they can sleep, work and socialise, and still feel at home,” says Rafal Mirowski, CEO of Pinewood Investment Management.
The heart of Vienna House R.evo Katowice is the lobby area with reception, bar and lounge. In short: a marketplace for the guests. The comfortable seating areas serve as breakfast nook or hangout spot with friends but can also be quickly turned into a temporary workplace. Alternatively, the Work & Play area offers even more room for movers and shakers with the possibility to hire space exclusively if desired.
Vienna House R.evo Katowice, situated in the city’s Śródmieście district, features a total of 203 units, including 145 double rooms, five single rooms, 50 apartments and three Family & Friends rooms.
The double rooms combine intelligent design and the best living comfort. There are two design variants to choose from, always with a stylish bathroom and a sophisticated lighting concept that creates a cosy atmosphere.
Business guests and frequent travellers in particular will appreciate the spacious apartments. Because what more do you need for a good night’s rest than a comfortable bed in a separate sleeping area, a cosy work area for that last e-mail of the day, a large bathroom with walk-in shower and plenty of space for personal items. The smart TV streams your favourite series and the well-equipped kitchen or kitchenette is perfect for preparing a quick snack.
The slightly different canteen
The Canteen at Vienna House R.evo offers a new kind of dining experience in a relaxed and flexible environment. Guests create their own breakfast compositions bento style from a large selection of balanced ingredients. At lunchtime and in the evening, street food from around the world is prepared in the open kitchen with different food truck-inspired dishes that change every day. Light and crispy pizzas are baked in the impressive pizza oven, while other dishes such as burgers and salads complete the range of offerings. All dishes can be eaten in house or taken away, ordered in person or via app – the guests decide where and how they like it best. Drinks and cocktails are served by the bar team while the barista creates a range of coffee specialties with the perfect crema.
The new way of work and life
The traditional office is dead. Today’s workplace is made for a new generation of start-ups, creatives, consultants, web developers and managers who need nothing more than a laptop and a fast internet connection. Vienna House R.evo offers a wealth of possible workspaces. Here everyone will find the space they need, either in the office with room for up to four people, in the Work & Play area with real desks, or at the freely available co-working tables and seating areas. The relaxation area as well as the creative zones and gaming corners are welcome retreats for creative breaks. The deli offers food for the nerves as well as snacks and drinks for both guests and walk-in customers.
Another highlight is the cinema in the basement, which features cosy armchairs for up to 30 persons and can be used for exclusive presentations or fun film evenings with friends.
Simplify your life
Wherever sensible, Vienna House R.evo makes use of digital services. Various offerings can be accessed via mobile concierge and in-house messenger. For example, guests can order their food and compose their meal in the restaurant easily and conveniently via app.
Self-service offerings such as delivery boxes for your shopping or grocery deliveries, a laundromat, parcel boxes, a shop for basic needs, souvenirs, your favourite local designer piece, or a bottle of wine help make daily life easier.
Power up your life
The spacious fitness area offers personal training sessions with a focus on working with your own body weight. Alternatively, you could go jogging through the city on the many running trails featured in the mobile concierge.
The Vienna House R.evo Katowice is conveniently located in the centre of town within easy reach of the main train station, numerous sights and attractions, and the main sports and event venues. The Katowice and Kraków airports are less than an hour away by car or public transport. Parking is available at Vienna House R.evo, with several spots that include an electric vehicle charging station.
The lease agreement between Vienna House and the investor was signed in December 2019. The renovation of the former office building has already started. Completion and opening are planned for March 2021. The R.evo interior design concept is done by BWM Architekten and a well-known polish architectural studio will take over execution drawings ensuring compliance with polish regulations.
The Vienna House R.evo Katowice will be the first of its kind. Another Vienna House R.evo is currently under construction in Munich. The opening is planned for 2022.
