Vienna House coming to Liechtenstein

Vienna, 06.07.2017  – Starting in the spring of 2018, a new Vienna House will be built in Liechtenstein in the municipality of Schaan, an economic centre in the country.

The hotel will feature contemporary trends in all areas with a focus on new bar and restaurant concepts. An urban gardening project is also planned.

The construction of a new hotel of the Vienna House brand is planned to begin in the spring of 2018 in Schaan, Liechtenstein. The hotel, which will comprise 162 rooms and suites, is being developed by real estate developers Forol Holding AG and Annagh Establishment. The project is scheduled for completion after a construction time of about 18 months. The costs of construction are slated at around CHF 40 million.

Rupert Simoner, CEO of Vienna House, comments on the prestigious new project: “The operation of our hotel in Dornbirn gives us several years of experience on the regional market. Our cooperation with the renowned construction companies Forol and Annagh, together with the positive working relationship with municipal representatives, forms the perfect basis for this flagship project. We’ve got a fantastic team and we look forward to the realisation of Vienna House Drei Schwestern.”

The new Vienna House Drei Schwestern is conveniently located at the crossroads between the four nations of Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. This makes the hotel an interesting accommodation for representatives and business partners of big-name international companies in the region, such as Hilti, Ivoclar Vivadent, Thyssenkrupp Presta and Swarovski. Vienna House Drei Schwestern can expect to attract guests from several potential segments. In addition to leisure tourists, business travellers and seminar participants, the hotel will focus on getting the local population excited about the restaurant offer. With enough parking possibilities, including its own garage, the hotel is ideal for guests who arrive by car.

Urs Peter Koller, managing director of construction client Forol, says: “We are convinced that Schaan is the perfect site for the Drei Schwestern hotel in terms of location and access. The completely new concept is specifically tuned to the distinct market needs of the region. Vienna House is a fantastic partner who understands how to address the high demands. Annagh spent the last few years creating the foundations for this hotel project. Now we are taking the crucial next step: the realisation of the hotel.”

The concept of the four-star superior hotel will deliver an authentic interpretation of Liechtenstein tradition and culture throughout the entire property. Featured themes include the Principality of Liechtenstein, the impressive alpine nature, and the region’s innovative spirit, tradition and values. The hotel is named after the nearby mountain chain of the Drei Schwestern (“Three Sisters”).

Hanno Konrad, member of the management of construction client Annagh, comments on the pioneering hotel project and its unique trends: “We spent several years working on the design and development of the Drei Schwestern hotel project in Schaan. Thanks to the partnership with Forol of Switzerland, we have now managed to further align the project to the needs of the market in Liechtenstein and the surrounding region and to include current trends. The many years of experience of Urs Peter Koller and his team at Forol, coupled with the regional know-how and establishment of Annagh in Liechtenstein, are a guarantee for the sustainability of this project.”

Rooms that tell stories

The design of the rooms and junior suites will incorporate elements of modern Liechtenstein as well as nearby sights and local natural features. The hotel will provide a perfect sleep-live-work balance in its comfortable guest rooms of various categories. The bathrooms are designed to resemble a private spa with tub or large shower and premium amenities. Intelligent lighting is planned for the guest rooms and bathrooms to help create a pleasant atmosphere. All rooms will come equipped with free high-speed WiFi as well as a smart TV.

Spaciousness and breakfast in the kitchen

At Vienna House Drei Schwestern, a cosy lounge replaces the classic lobby as meeting place and co-working space with a living-room feel. As the heart of the hotel, the lounge unites reception, bar and restaurant in one location. The first meal of the day is served here in the style of “breakfast in the kitchen”. The fixtures and furnishings are reminiscent of good old times – a wood stove, pots and pans, old water jugs, kitchen appliances spanning the ages and a large community table. Guests are served a selection of healthy dishes, of the best quality and regional origin, with the smell of freshly baked bread and coffee for the perfect start to the day. “We want to excite our guests. And we will put this philosophy into practice at Vienna House Drei Schwestern in Schaan,” says Rupert Simoner.

Regional cuisine

The zeitgeisty tavern-style restaurant with winter garden will put its focus on culinary trends such as grilled meats, fish and vegetarian delicacies, complemented by Austrian classics with the obligatory Wiener Schnitzel and Tafelspitz. A terrace and garden are planned as a cosy oasis for the summer months, also ideal for weddings, after-work get-togethers or a Sunday brunch.

Creative meetings

The innovative design in the conference area creates a relaxing environment in which ideas can come to fruition – original and creative breaks included. The flexible meeting rooms with a total of 300 m² of space will be available for events, meetings or product presentations.

Garden project & wellness

A focus at Vienna House Drei Schwestern is on going green. With a nod to urban gardening, guests can pick fresh berries for breakfast, nurture their own plants, harvest fresh fruit and vegetables for a quick snack, or sponsor a tree. The offer is topped by a large fitness and wellness area including cardio and strength equipment as well as personal trainers for a workout on site or in the great outdoors.
