Experience something new
Landsberg is a treasure trove overflowing with history, art and culture. Start off by exploring the medieval town of Landsberg am Lech. A small town with a high quality of life, its colourful mixture of shops, markets, cafés and rustic inns all adds up to bags of Bavarian charm. A stopover here is well worth lingering over.
The exact location
The Vienna House Easy Landsberg lies directly on the Romantic Road, linking the historical town of Landsberg with another Bavarian stronghold steeped in tradition – Augsburg. Landsberg is in many ways a gateway to southern Europe. Or an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Land of the Five Lakes. The old town is just 2 kilometres from the hotel.
The weir on the LechRead more
The Lech is often labelled as a small river and it is therefore underestimated. However, the weir on the Lech clearly shows how big, impressive and dangerous the Lech can be. Since the Lech flows through the middle of Landsberg, the weir serves to protect the town during floods. All around there are also a few gravel banks, which are ideal for swimming when summer comes.
The nature reserve of Landsberg
The heart of the Lech Valley between Landsberg and Schongau is the "Pössinger Au" park. The forest area lies south of the town on the east bank of the river Lech. This landscape conservation area, comprised of a wonderful forest, a meadow and a floodplain landscape - is home to many rare animals and plants.Read more
From art to food, Landsberg offers many pleasures. The cultural scene ranges from classical theatre to contemporary dance, from chamber recitals to church concerts. Take a stroll to the mighty Lech weir or the historical Salzstadeln salt barns. Or just soak up the atmosphere at a beer garden.
From Schweinshaxe pork knuckle with dumplings to Swabian Spätzle (German noodles) and Dampfnudel rolls, Landsberg is a place of hearty traditional cuisine. The weekly regional markets sell a diverse range of produce such as fish, vegetables, cheese and chocolate.
LANDSBERG SPORT AND LEISURE
Whether hiking or on horseback, active holiday makers will love the Lake Ammersee region. Adrenalin junkies can get their fix rafting on the Lech weir or by taking to the high ropes at the Hochseilgarten Ammersee. The Skyline Park at Allgäu is a white-knuckle ride for young and old alike.
