MAREND HIKING TOUR
„Marend“ is a meal in between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner. This small hiking tour is perfect also for beginners and starts with an ascent of Karren by cable car. After a small hiking tour you can enjoy your Marend in gasthouse Alpenrose, in “Juli´s Marend” or in gasthouse Heumöser” in Ebnit. The tour ends with an adventurous bus trip back to the bottom station of Karren. Tickets for the whole tour are available directly at the bottom station of Karren cable car.

Eveybody knows “Karren”, the backyard mountain of Dornbirn as well as the beautiful Rappenlochschlucht (a canyon), Schuttannen and Staufen. However, the hiking trails on the valley side above Dornbirn, Hohenems and Emsreute are more or less unknown. Nearby the Restaurant Bad Haslach (situated in Dornbirn) the adventurous and interesting circular walks begin. They take more than 3 hours and bring you for example to Karren via the Leiterweg (ladder way) or to the Fallbach waterfall.

GETTING HIGH ABOVE DORNBIRN
The Karrenbahn cable car takes visitors up Dornbirn's local mountain, the Karren, and offers splendid views. From Dornbirn, it’s just 5 minutes up to 976 m above sea level. It is not a particularly high mountain but don´t underestimate the panorama! The Karren is also an ideal starting point for hikes. The panorama restaurant will serve mainly Austrian cuisine, from breakfast to dinner.

MUSEUM EXPERIENCE IN DORNBIRN
The spectacular natural history experience Inatura is famous well beyond the town. Visitors young and old are introduced to a variety of natural history themes through interactive stations and “Science Zones”. The FLATZ Museum is devoted to the creative work of local contemporary artist Wolfgang Flatz.
With around 2,000 km of signposted trails, you can hike past streams, mountain lakes and meadows to the most stunning places in the area. Biking is another excellent way of discovering the area. The nearby Lake Constance offers an enticing variety of summer activities and in winter you keep moving thanks to the big range of winter sports.

Wrapped up in a warm blanket, a ride through the snow-covered winter’s landscape is a unique experience. Especially romantic, of course, is a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh. Followed by a visit to a little hut with romantic moments by the open fireplace.

Take a train to St. Gallen. Change at St. Gallen and take the S3 towards St. Margrethen, then travel to the terminus. From here, take the S3 towards Bregenz Riedenburg. Then continue the journey by takting the regional express train REX or S1 towards Dornbirn.

You can get easily to Dornbirn with the airport shuttle transfer offerd by peoples.

You can get to the Martinspark Vienna House Dornbirn comfortably and easily via the A14 from Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. If you need a vignette, you can purchase a 10-day vignette for Austria at the border. This depends where you are coming from and where you want to go.
- From the north or south:
On the A14, the Rheintal Motorway, take the exit for Dornbirn Süd. The hotel is just a few minutes away from the motorway exit. Simply follow the signage.
The Vienna House Martinspark Dornbirn has 180 car parking spaces in its underground car park. Some of them are for hotel guests only. EUR 8 per day.
